ABSTRACT :

        The mountainous territories dress a particular interest due to their fragility on the physical plan and the conditions socioeconomic which they offer to their populations. The Pond overturning of Oued Abdi situated on the Southern hillside of the Aures '' East Algeria '' shows itself as a representative sample of this situation.

        This research work has for objective the use of the geomatics as the tool for the study of the physical constraints of the environment by a systematic approach which use systems of geographical information (GIS) for the spatializing and the analysis of its various constraints. Besides the use of the remote sensing by the treatment and the exploitation of the satellite images LANDSat in the cartography  of land use. By associating a spatial plan the various physical constraints and their level, and the articulation of the socioeconomic stakes. The use of the geomatics allowed us to analyze and to manipulate several parameters and criteria recovering from the environment. This approach allowed us to specialize and to stack several layers of information, which establishes a diagnosis of the current situation and a document for the planners and the decision-makers.
