Dr. Hizia Bekhouche

I am respected academic and researcher in the field of Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering with a focus on unsaturated soil behavior and geotechnical structures. Currently serving as Maître de Conférences «B» at the Faculty of Technology, Department of Civil Engineering at Mostefa Benboulaid University, Batna 2, Algeria, she is affiliated with the Civil Engineering and Risk Laboratory (LGCROI).

I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnics, focusing on the behavior of unsaturated soils and geotechnical structures. my academic journey also includes a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Batna .

My research contributions span across national and international publications, with studies investigating the modification of geotechnical properties of loess using sustainable materials like eggshell waste, and the prediction of soil swelling pressures through advanced neural network models. I have authored multiple research papers in prestigious journals such as Heliyon and Italian Journal of Engineering Geology and Environment.

In addition to my academic achievements, I have actively participated in various national and international conferences, presenting her research on the swelling and shrinkage behaviors of clay soils and other critical geotechnical phenomena. I am also involved in research projects focusing on the valorization of industrial and construction waste for soil stabilization and road reinforcement.

My extensive background in soil mechanics, geotechnical testing, and civil infrastructure highlights me as a key contributor to advancements in sustainable geotechnical engineering practices in Algeria and beyond.
