Unix System Administration

This module provides first-year Computer Science students with the basic knowledge and practical skills needed to work with Unix/Linux systems. It starts with core Operating System concepts, then guides students through Linux installation and initial configuration.

The course covers command-line usage, file and directory operations, process and user management, software installation through package managers, and basic system administration tasks. It also introduces shell scripting to automate simple operations.

By the end of the module, students will understand how a Unix/Linux system functions and will be able to perform essential administrative tasks independently.
